Hi,
Please pardon the cross-posting.
If you subscribe to some Gale databases on your own – Opposing Viewpoints, for example – you can have your databases display in the menu of databases that appears when you click on PowerSearch from the Find Information pages in OSLIS. That way, your students can search all Gale products – those you pay for and those provided by the state – all at the same time.
To get the ball rolling, go to Gale’s support site for Oregon, http://galesupport.com/oregon/, scroll to the very bottom of the page, and fill out the tech support form. In the comment section, include this information:
- You want the Gale databases to which your school already subscribes to display in the menu of databases offered through the statewide contract in Oregon.
- You access Gale through OSLIS.
- Your user name for remote access to Gale, which Gale refers to as a location ID
- Perhaps include a list of the
databases that your school subscribes to, although Gale should have that
information.
If Gale tech support doesn’t implement your request within a reasonable amount of time, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jen
