Hi,
In the past week I’ve been asked twice about the number of magazines/journals we have access to through our statewide database contract with Gale. In case you need to know this, too, the answer is 9,409.
Page 82 of Gale’s response to our RFP states this:
Proposer shall be the publisher of
the database for full text magazine and journal articles, as opposed to a
third-party database provider. The database package must offer a minimum of
3,000 unique full text titles… [This
is what we asked of proposers.]
Gale’s response,
still on page 82:
Through all the proposed
databases, Gale is offering Oregon 9,409 active, full-text
titles…
The total magazine/journal count is actually higher (and not specified in the RFP response), but we really want the full-text count anyway. It doesn’t do a lot of good to get an abstract if we don’t have that journal in our own collection.
Thanks,
Jen
