Hi,

We have some updated information about the Opposing Viewpoints (OVRC) webinars.  Because the date for transitioning OVRC and select other Resource Center databases, like SRC Gold, to the new interface has been moved from June to August, we have canceled the previously mentioned June trainings.  This is the schedule for the Oregon webinars:

One of the August webinars will be recorded and will be available for viewing soon afterward.

As we near the webinar dates, we’ll send access information.  You will need a phone (landline or cellular) and a computer with an Internet connection.  Ideally, you will have a quiet space for participating as lots of background noise makes it difficult for others to hear.

Those attending the OASL conference in Bend have the option of going to the OSLIS/Gale session on Friday morning, October 8^th.  As part of his database training, the Gale trainer will show us how to use the new interface for OVRC.

Also, remember that Gale offers webinars on a variety of topics every month.  You can check their national training calendar for OVRC webinars.  June OVRC webinars will offer a preview of the new interface, relying primarily on screenshots.  As we get closer to the August transition date, Gale will incorporate more of the actual interface into their national webinars.  Recall that you’ll need to convert listed times to Pacific Standard Time and that the national webinars are free but you have to register for them ahead of time. https://www.yourconferencecenter.com/CMS/eventcalendar.aspx?beid=100416
