Update: iPhone App for Access to Gale Databases

Gale has added many more schools to the K-12 version of AccessMyLibrary (AML), the app which allows students and educators to access the Gale databases from their iPhone/iTouch/iPad.

Please note that schools are listed by city and not by school district name.  If your school is not listed in the app or if you want to update info about your library, please contact Gale.
Gale.Consortium.Installs@cengage.com (Start the subject line w/ “Oregon.”)

          1-800-877-4253, option 4

The app requires users to enter a password one time, which is then good for an entire school year.  It is the same password used to access the Gale databases via OSLIS.

This webpage has more info and access to free promotional materials: http://www.gale.cengage.com/apps/aml/SchoolLibrary/

Nearly all Oregon public libraries have been added to the public library version of AML, and Gale plans to release an academic library version soon.

On a different subject, I removed the archived “Welcome to Gale” webinar that had been viewable on www.motionbox.com since late November 2009.  Motionbox was bought by Snapfish, and I did not transfer the video to Snapfish since the Gale databases are no longer new to us.

Thanks,
Jen
