Citation Maker & Option to Save as Google Doc

Hi,

Recently I learned that Citation Maker users in one of the larger districts in Oregon now get a caution message when they choose the Save as Google Doc option. One version of the message says, “This app isn’t verified. Only proceed if you know and trust the developer.” See the screenshot below. If that is happening where you are, please let me know.

I will work on resolving the issue with Google. In the meantime, if a Citation Maker user gets the caution message, know that nothing about OSLIS or Citation Maker has changed. The site is safe.

To get beyond the caution, click on “advanced” – an option in the pop-up message, click on “go to oslis.org,” and click on “allow access.” After following that path once, the user will not be cautioned again when using that same Google account.

If you have questions, please ask. Please let staff and students know.

Thanks,
Jen
